Fairview NJ, police say Giancarlo Pontecorvo, 26, of Ridgefield, is now facing assault charges after allegedly spitting in a woman’s face during the protests on Fairview Avenue Saturday afternoon.
What Happened During the Protest?
According to authorities, Pontecorvo blocked traffic. This led to an argument with Linda Roglen, 62, of North Bergen, who was waiting in her vehicle.
During the heated exchange, Pontecorvo allegedly spit on Roglen, sparking further tension. Moments later, Roglen reportedly drove her car into the crowd of protesters, injuring several people before leaving the scene.

Several protesters were injured after Roglen’s vehicle entered the crowd. Fairview Police responded quickly to assist victims and detain those involved. Thankfully, no fatalities were reported.
