It will be 50 years very soon since I graduated RHS, 60 years since my Brother Richard, and 90 years since my Mom and longtime Ridgewood librarian – Marion Zabriskie; yet the issues of RHS and the solutions remain the same!
When I left in 1971 the BOE was CONVINCED the necessary course was to raze the current High School building and build new from scratch for “the exploding baby boom population.” Cooler heads prevailed with science that showed the baby boom was a passing phenomena and the finite space of the Village of Ridgewood would explode the infrastructure. It was VOTERS then that prevailed. As they should now. Remember Martha Graham, William Shatner, Margaret Mead all of whom taught us at RHS. Keep your bar high!
Edit: Not explode the infrastructure. pz

I second this….not out of malice but because it’d be awesome if it were true….

I’m not suggesting we raze the school and start over, but you must admit the school is waaaaaay too small for its population. The hallways are massively crowded – it’s a joke.
Excuse me for being Dutch but Shatner is from Canada…..
