THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 543 IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEW JERSEY THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY BERGEN ESSEX HUDSON PASSAIC UNION IN NEW YORK THIS WATCH INCLUDES 9 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK BRONX KINGS (BROOKLYN) NEW YORK (MANHATTAN) ORANGE PUTNAM QUEENS RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND) ROCKLAND WESTCHESTER

Ridgewood Emergency Management :Hazardous Weather Outlook for Late Monday into Tuesday — Heavy Rains Possible

The remnants of Tropical Storm Karen in the Gulf of Mexico are forecast to converge with moisture in the Western Atlantic Ocean and are forecast are expected to impact our area late Monday into Tuesday in the form of heavy rain. Numerous heavy showers and thunderstorms might develop and move across the region. Hourly rainfall rates might briefly reach 1 inch per hour.
