Ridgewood NJ,The Village Council of the Village of Ridgewood proclaims the week of May 19, 2019 through May 25, 2019 as Emergency Services Week.
EMS Strong – Beyond the Call is a national campaign to raise awareness
of EMS Week and the important role of EMS responders throughout the
country.
EMS week calls all residents and businesses in Ridgewood to recognize the
value and dedication of the Volunteer Ridgewood Emergency Services
professionals to the residents. The Emergency Services Volunteers have a
sense of great responsibility and dedication to the Village.
Ridgewood Emergency Services, the largest Volunteer Agency in the
Village, Ridgewood Emergency Services has been an integral part of the
Village since 1979. The department provides 24/7, 365 days a year
emergency response to the Village. In 2018, the Ridgewood Emergency
Services Volunteers responded to 1627 EMS Calls and 374 Special
Operations Calls. The volunteers donated a combined total of 15,268 hours
to the Village in “on-call” time and another 5,581 hours in miscellaneous
assistance for a total of 20,842 hours. Additionally, the many hours spent in
specialized training, and continuing education to enhance skills and
continuing education.
