
Ridgewood Fire Department Responded to More than 3200 Calls in 2025

Ridgewood NJ, Tradition, camaraderie, and heroics were on the menu this week as Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 gathered for their highly anticipated annual beefsteak dinner and awards ceremony.
On Monday night, active and retired members of the department came together to swap stories of the past and, more importantly, to honor the extraordinary bravery displayed by Ridgewood’s bravest throughout 2025.
Excellence in Action: The 2025 Award Recipients
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of unit citations and lifesaving awards. These honors recognize the split-second decisions and tireless teamwork required to keep the Village of Ridgewood safe.
Unit Citation: Platoon C
For their seamless coordination and professional excellence during critical operations in 2025, the following members of Platoon C were honored:

Leadership: Captain Brendan Corcoran, Lt. Michael Kakolewski, and Lt. Brian Peacock.

Firefighters: Paul Brennan, Anthony Dinice, Chris Eidschun, Jason Jacoby, Daniel Kostro, Oscar Martinez, Kevin Monton, and Steve Scanapico.
Lifesaving Awards: Exceptional Bravery
Two separate teams were recognized for their direct roles in saving lives during emergency calls this past year:

Team A: Lt. Joseph Ferraro, FF Michael McLaughlin, FF/EMT Chris Santucci, FF/EMT Mark Barone, and FF/EMT Tyler Biagi.

Team B: Lt. Ryan Romero, FF/EMT Brian Kelly, FF/EMT Matt Bombace, and FF/EMT Tim Bombace.
“The dinner is a great opportunity for active and retired members to come together for camaraderie and good stories of the past,” the department shared.
A Night of Community and Music
Beyond the awards, the evening was a celebration of the department’s culture. Attendees enjoyed live music from Allies & T, an acoustic duo that has become a local favorite for their soulful performances.
Events like the annual beefsteak dinner serve as a vital link between generations of firefighters, ensuring that the history and values of the Ridgewood Fire Department are passed down to the newest recruits.
