Ridgewood High School won a regional marching band competition Saturday night with a show centered on getting around the New York City area, and will perform in the state and national championship in the coming weeks.

The school won first place for its performance of “Rush Hour,” a three-movement show that featured songs such as “Motion” by Brian Balmages, “Leaving on a Jet Plane” by John Denver and “Ride” by Sam Hazo. The show concluded with a rendition of “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.
