Ridgewood plans full police funeral for 10-year old boy

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — A town in northern New Jersey is planning a full police funeral for a 10-year-old boy.

Michael Feeney was named Ridgewood’s honorary police chief for 2013 before succumbing to cancer on Friday.

The Hawes Elementary School fifth-grader had Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare, aggressive and often fatal bone cancer that usually develops in children and young adults.

His funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
