Ridgewood NJ, if you’re hoping to see change on the Ridgewood Board of Education, now is your chance. One seat will be on the ballot in the November 2025 election, and the process to get on that ballot is simple.
📋 Election nomination petitions will be available soon (or may already be available). To qualify, candidates need just 10 signatures from Ridgewood residents. That’s all it takes to give voters a choice and bring fresh voices to the school board.
While last year’s election details remain online, the Board of Education has not yet updated its website with 2025 information, which some believe limits residents’ awareness and helps preserve the status quo. You can still view the previous information here:

💬 Pro tip: If you care about school policy, budgeting, transparency, or curriculum direction, running for this seat—or supporting someone who does—is a powerful way to make a difference.

Whose seat is up?
DUMP BROGAN!
teachers union will never let you do that
the teachers union runs Ridgewood schools , its all about jobs for teachers
maybe with declining enrollment we should focus on learning
Brogan has a name in mind for her succession plan, which already includes the NJEA and Democratic Party backed Community School model of education.
Start reading about Community Schools and start realizing RPS has followed this model with their Vision 2030 plan.
Hopefully people start stepping up.
what is this community school model of education? please elaborate

Paterson functions as a Community Schools, so does Newark. They made a deal with Governor Murphy to run this model in favor of returning “local control” where the state monitored them for decades.
Ridgewood is looking to be the one district in Bergen County that runs a community school model. Democrats, with strong support from NJEA, want schools to function as the central hub for community resource. They are looking to get support for a partisan bill. Having a school per county promotes this bill. The partnership with Montclair State University, state political connections, the “later start time” change, the rise of HIB’s, addressing teacher retention all indicate that a community school model is being pushed upon village children.
The vision 2030 presentation and state of the schools questionnaire also demonstrates the BOE is advocating for moving into this direction. They are not hiding how DEI is going to be used within the district. Budgets, curriculum, discipline, hiring, etc will all generate from one source- the bureaucratic structure that has recently strengthened with the administration’s realignment this past fall.
They are simply pursuing this politically favored model of public education. It’s so DEI practices and policies can be embedded fully into how community members access “supports.”
Remember, DEI is not about diversity and inclusion. It is about power and control. And the BOE and Superintendent are not hiding this.
Vote red for Governor
We’re too stupid to do that.
Mary Lou Handy got in uncontested because no one ran against her. She is a dim bulb but has free time to do it which is pathetic. The rest of the bunch are all yes people and Brogan at the helm is troubling as she is fumbling her way through all of the time. Dani is the only one who seems to really be asking questions and really consuming information in a way that benefits our schools and our kids. When his seat is up we are seriously screwed.
I have heard from VERY reliable sources that Brogan is again planning the failed referendum from 6 years ago. This time it will be even bigger in the 100M+ range.
The plan is to introduce it soon after her re-election in November – so it will impact Dani and Micale’s re-election and not hers. She doesn’t want either of them on the board. Micale is smart and her only competition for the board president’s position.
So, buckle up for the 100M+ referendum next year, after Brogan’s re-election in November.
What is the failed referendum from 6 years ago?
Vote in local elections! Especially for BOE. Brogan’s parting gift will be to hand her power over to town politicians and parent groups.
