Ridgewood NJ, taxpayers should plan to attend these meetings, there will be snacks .Ask the architects what options they have considered at different price points to upgrade the facilities before coming up with their $70Million proposal.
There cannot be just one way to do things in the HVCA/boiler world. The architect proposing this $70Million plan was picked without a bid process and is going to get paid in commission for architecture fee, bid management fee, construction management fee, and project management fee (and since bid management is outsourced to them, they do the bidding for the contractors).
Please attend these meetings and ask what process was followed to reach the current list of recommended upgrades.
Don’t forget Ridgewood taxpayers are already on the hook for the massive upgrades needed in infrastructure due to the Aronsohn’s Administrations high-density housing. These upgrades include streets, water, sewer, parking, fire , police and of coarse new classrooms just to name a few.
Is someone getting kickbacks or is it poor planning?
No need to attend these. I will never again vote Yes for a Ridgewood school budget.
Who is the architect? Name names, please!
In the past, when we did have a vote, the budget was voted down. The Mighty Council over ruled the negative vote and took a token bit out of the original bond issue. Apparently the voters do not have a final say. We vote “No”, they say “Yes” so nothing at all was accomplished.
How much in additional tax dollars per household.
Simple – NO on this referendum. $105 million a year and they need to borrow $70 million more? No, just no.
