The arts are the heartbeat of our community, and this year, the pulse is stronger than ever. The Ridgewood Arts Foundation (RAF) has officially announced its 2026 scholarship recipients, recognizing four exceptional students who have demonstrated outstanding talent and leadership in the visual and performing arts.

A special congratulations goes out to the honorees, who have become familiar faces in the Ridgewood High School creative scene:

  • MaryAnn Wright – RHS New Players Student Officer

  • Brooke Kantrowitz – RHS New Players Student Officer

  • Anders Ryen

  • Kiehye Song

A Night of Artistic Achievement

The awards ceremony brought together a “who’s who” of Ridgewood’s cultural leaders. Joining the students were Mr. Nyhuis, Kristen Plumley (RAF), and Michelle McGorty (President of RHS New Players).

The event also highlighted the collaborative spirit of the town, featuring Sandra Santangelo (FLOC Creative Studio), Kathryn Schmidt (Producer/Co-writer of Green: The Musical), and Visual and Performing Arts Supervisor Chris McCullough.

The Mission Behind the Magic: What is RAF?

Founded in 2016, the Ridgewood Arts Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to a dual purpose: funding and celebrating the arts.

From middle school students to professional artists, RAF provides the financial backbone for creative development in our area. To date, the foundation has awarded nearly 250 grants and scholarships, ensuring that Ridgewood remains a premier destination for cultural education and entertainment.
