The Oradell Police Department received a notification from the FBI regarding a potential threat involving a student at River Dell Regional High School. According to Lt. Victor Egg, the school immediately implemented emergency procedures following communication with local law enforcement.
At approximately 9:55 a.m., the high school entered lockdown while the middle school initiated a shelter-in-place protocol, Superintendent James Albro confirmed in an official statement.
Police Investigation Finds No Immediate Danger
The situation was thoroughly investigated by both Oradell and Bergen County law enforcement and was cleared within half an hour. Students and staff safely resumed normal classroom activities shortly afterward.
“There is no active threat to any of the River Dell schools,” Lt. Egg stated.
Police successfully located the student connected to the alleged threat. As of Friday afternoon, no criminal charges have been filed, though the investigation remains ongoing.
