Ryan Savaria has been appointed as Acting Director/Chief of Ridgewood Emergency Services

Ridgewood NJ, Ryan Savaria has been appointed as Acting Director/Chief of Ridgewood Emergency Services, by Ridgewood Village Manager Heather Mailander.  Ryan has volunteered with the Department for the past 25 years and has been an EMT for 23 years. Ryan has served in all the operational and administrative leadership positions, most recently as Deputy Chief.

Tony LilIo has resigned as Director and Chief of Ridgewood Emergency Services due to personal reasons. Chief Lillo, a volunteer EMT since 1991, has been a member of the Department for 20 years with the last 3 ¼ years as its Director/Chief.  Chief Lillo will become a Life Member of Ridgewood Emergency Services, continuing to serve in various capacities and offering his experience and guidance to the Department. The officers and members of the Department say thank you to Chief Lillo for his leadership and the countess hours of dedicated service that he gave to the Department and the Village of Ridgewood.

Ridgewood Emergency Services has been an integral part of the Village since 1979. The department provides 24/7 emergency response care to the Village.  In 2018, the Ridgewood Emergency Services Volunteers responded to 1627 EMS Calls and 374 Special Operations Calls. The volunteers donated a combined total of 15,268 hours to the Village in “on-call” time and another 5,581 hours in miscellaneous assistance for a total of 20,842 hours.
