Trenton NJ, Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean said representatives of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) should be prepared to answer questions about the agency’s operations and employment practices at upcoming Senate Budget Committee hearings following today’s resignation of chief executive officer Lizette Delgado-Polanco.

The resignation of Lizette Delgado-Polanco should not be viewed as a ‘get out of jail free’ card for either the SDA or the Murphy Administration,” said Kean. “The agency should be prepared to send someone to the Senate Budget Committee on Tuesday who is capable of answering the outstanding questions about patronage hires and firings and other important operational matters that Ms. Delgado-Polcanco refused to answer at previous hearings.”

“The Murphy Administration’s lack of transparency on employment matters at the SDA and other executive branch departments and agencies is inexcusable,” Kean added. “This constant stonewalling is hindering the Legislature’s efforts to learn exactly how taxpayer dollars have been abused and delaying fixes to our broken system of government. There is simply too much at stake.

“It is extremely troubling that Gov. Murphy cannot hire competent leadership with in his administration,” said
26-year-old Paramus Republican Christopher DiPiazza .

Yet another failed hiring with the recent news about Lizette Delgado-Polanco, Gov. Murphy and Assembly Democrats pick to head the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. Polanco fired state workers when, Phil Murphy and Assembly Democrats hired her to head the agency, only to put her friends and family on the payroll.

“I am disgusted by this news. The fact that the person in charge of developing our New Jersey schools, which so badly need developing, is more concerned with getting her friends paid then doing her job should anger parents all around New Jersey who have children in our public schools,” said Kazimir.

“I hope the citizens of New Jersey see that all three democratically controlled houses of state government are totally mismanaging our tax dollars and our state. We need new leadership in Trenton and we need it before our state is utterly destroyed,” said DiPiazza.
