River Edge, NJ — On Saturday, July 12, baseball and history enthusiasts gathered at the Bergen County Historical Society for a one-of-a-kind event—Vintage Baseball featuring the Flemington Neshanock and The Enterprise Club of New Bridge. The two teams faced off in an exciting doubleheader, playing with authentic 19th-century rules, uniforms, and equipment, offering a rare glimpse into America’s pastime as it was played over 100 years ago.

⚾ 19th-Century Baseball Comes to Life

Set against the backdrop of Bergen County’s rich history, the Flemington Neshanocks and The Enterprise Club of New Bridge delivered a thrilling afternoon of historical baseball. Players wore period-accurate uniforms, used replica equipment, and followed rules from the 1800s, creating an immersive experience that transported spectators back in time.

Fans enjoyed two full games played as they would have been in the days of early American baseball—no gloves, no modern gear, and plenty of gentlemanly sportsmanship.

🎶 Nostalgic Entertainment & Classic Eats

Between the games, attendees were treated to a special musical performance by the Blue Chip Chorus barbershop quartet, who serenaded the crowd with nostalgic songs from a bygone era, adding to the event’s historic charm.

No ballgame is complete without refreshments! Visitors enjoyed classic ballpark snacks, hot dogs, and drinks, and cooled off with sweet treats from an on-site ice cream truck, making it a perfect summer Saturday for families and baseball lovers alike.
