PLUMSTED TOWNSHIP — Sarah Palin rode the Tea Party Express tour bus into Ocean County today to lend her political star power to Republican Steve Lonegan’s U.S. Senate campaign, urging the roughly 2,000 supporters to muster up “their Jersey fight” to help him defeat Cory Booker.

In the final weekend before the special election on Wednesday, Booker also revved up his campaign by launching a bus tour in north Jersey for a series of events he delayed after his father’s death on Thursday.

With polls putting Lonegan within 12 percentage points of Booker — a much closer margin than pundits had predicted — both camps worked aggressively to energize their supporters. Both candidates capitalized on the public discontent with the federal government shutdown, 12 days old with no end in sight.

If New Jersey, a blue state, sends a conservative like Lonegan to Washington, President Obama and the Democratic leaders in Congress would understand that their policies and message are failing, Palin said.

  1. This is who you’re voting with, PJ. The Monster Truck crowd. Looks like a KKK rally.

Just compare Booker’s education with Lonegan’s. Booker took on the hardest job in the state, while Lonegan hung out in tinly little Bogota with his toupee. He is by far outclassed by Booker in terms of experience and education.

    1. so let me get this right you live in the Jersey Shore , Jersey Housewives state a state that voted for jim macgreevey and Lonegan is not smart enough ??? as for Bookers degree it hasn’t helped Newark much guess you haven’t been there in a while .

  2. #2 you pulled is several unrelated items to make your point. #1 was comparing the two candidates.

Honestly, Lonegan does not seem too bright.

    1. Once again living in New Jersey , kind of disqualifies you from making that judgement

  3. 2007 states with highest SAT scores:
    #7 New Jersey
    #6 Montana
    #5 Connecticut
    #4 Iowa
    #3 Massachusetts
    #2 Wisconsin
    #1 Vermont

Outside of Montana, what color are the other 6??

    1. so you are saying SAT scores are the sole way to judge intelligence ?

  4. #6, I’m at least offering factual information. Making a generalization about the intelligence of an entire state’s population based on a crappy cable tv show is a bit ridiculous…..isn’t it?

  5. NJ is known all over the country as the dumbest and most corrupt state so SAT scores wont help ;lol

  6. I would say high taxes and corruption are inverse to intelligence and that would put NJ at the bottom

  7. #9 Well if that’s all it takes, I say that cancer is cured.

  8. We are voting for US senator and for as long as I’ve been alive, NJ has been a donor state – receiving .60-.80 cents for each dollar sent to Washington. If the other 43 states have such SAT scores, who are the intelligent representatives who are bringing home $1-$2 for every $1 in federal taxes?

  9. What’s the average SAT score in Newark and Paterson, where Booker is going to receive 80-90% of the votes?
