Ridgewood NJ, The SHPO application states that over 25% of Ridgewood’s 25,979 residents are school-age, implying 6,500+ students (claims made in Suburban Engineer’s “Independent” assessment page 4). However, actual school enrollment data contradicts this:

If Ridgewood’s school-age population exceeds 6,500, why is enrollment nearly 1,000 students lower? The 25% figure appears inflated, potentially including private, parochial, or non-resident students.
Keith publicly claimed that 6,700 athletes were registered for 2024, which are inflated compared to the specific numbers provided.

Yet another Village Hall flim-flam.
Because Keith Kazmark was hand picked by our awful mayor, Vagianos, to do whatever it tskes to get approval for the regulation sized turf field on the historic property. Vagianos promised the sports organizations and everyone in Ridgewood pretty much knows this by now. Kazmark must inflate the numbers while minimizing the numver of fields to create a sense of lack but it is not true and not all of those 5300 kids enrolled in Ridgewood schools pllay sports.
Keith Kazmark is a PuPPeT of Paul Vagianos.
He was his campaign manager before being hired for this job.
He owes his 250k job to Paul and will do whatever he wants.
His previous hustle of selling homes for KW doesn’t make even 1/4th the money he is making as village manager.

Let’s just hope that the Finance Department isn’t as sloppy with numbers as the Village Manager’s office seems to be.

the answer is simple….they are double and triple counting kids who play more than one sport.

There are many kids that don’t go to school in Ridgewood. Many to private schools and the top athletes in the high school got to schools like Don Bosco, etc.

If they are going to Don Bosco aren’t they playing sports there? I remember a baseball dad whose kids friend over the Ridgewood fields and yet they didn’t play sports at all in Ridgewood.

The numbers are inflated because they need to justify their call for MORD FIELDS. They paid heavily for the campaign mailers and signs for Vagianos, Winograd, Weitz, and Mortimer. So the council majority will do whatever it takes to keep their cash cows happy. Sickening g. In our little town.
There’s probably a simple explanation to this. My guess would be students registered for multiple sports being counted twice. Whether that requires clarification, if it’s a mistake or an oversight, people should at least try to work together instead of the constant nasty finger pointing
I love your innocence, but the village of Ridgewood, mayor, council and village manager are intentionally fudging the numbers to make it look like there are more kids than available fields for them to play on. They don’t want to do anything by committee, so tell me, how can you work together with anyone when they are trying to mask the truth from every angle? These are not people who want to work with you or I because we will be on to their scheme and they are so good at it that most people don’t even realize they are being bamboozled. I think its is time for you to take off the rose colored glasses once and for all and see this council for what and who they really are and realize where their loyalty lies. Don’t fool yourself into believing that this is for public benefit, it is so the sports teams can make more money.
