Last summer, George Washington University announced that it would no longer require students to submit their SAT or ACT scores as incoming freshmen. This move was made because the university “had concerns that students who could be successful at GW felt discouraged from applying if their scores were not as strong as their high school performance.”
Some students, however, did not get off so easy. Homeschoolers, the college noted, would still have to submit their SAT scores before they could be admitted.
While such a caveat seems rather unfair, a new survey of 2014 SAT scores shows that the requirement shouldn’t be much of a hindrance to homeschool graduates.
In early June, Dr. Brian Ray of the National Home Education Research Institute released findings on how homeschool students match up against other students on the SAT exam. The results in the table below show that homeschool students are far outpacing their traditional school counterparts, particularly in the areas of reading and writing.

Teachers Unions take note.options available around massive pensions and extraordinary benefits taking over 75 plus percent of high tax based towns like RIDGEWOOD . Part of that money could be used for common good tax relief and newer citizen services .
It’s because they are spending all their time learning… not getting indoctrinated.
It’s not really surprising.
8:53 You should ask to shadow a teacher for a day. You will see the hard work that goes into teaching. Who has time to indoctrinate students, whatever that means to you.
What does it even mean to say that students are “indoctrinated “. Do they allow free discussions in the class? Do the student opinions differ from yours? Are you only comfortable with people who think the same as you?
6:52.
I have intimate knowledge about what teachers do and do not do on a daily basis.
.
Regardless of the level of effort expended by teachers, the reality is that the children are being indoctrinated into a socialist agenda.
And yes, free discussions are allowed, but they are directed toward a socialist perspective. Children are impressionable and the socialist agenda is indoctrinated into them from a very early age. Those children who have differing views quickly learn to mask their views or remain quiet.
.
THIS is the reality.
.
You do not know me, but assume that I know nothing of what goes on in the classroom. I find your criticism ironic after you accuse me of only being “comfortable with people who think the same”.
.
I do not know you, but find your response weak and off topic. I made no comment on the quantity (nor quality) of work effort expended by teachers, in fact, I did not reference teachers at all. I commented on the socialist agenda (incorporated into the curriculum) being foisted upon students in public schools (including Ridgewood).
.
10:24… again with the socialist agenda?
Peesmith… Pay attention. It’s happening.
You seem bright enough to realize that it is so either you agree with the agenda or I have misjudged your ability to observe and comprehend.
