The Ridgewood New
Super Science Saturday, the annual celebration of science and technology, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at Ridgewood High School. The event, now in its 27th year, is free and open to all members of the public.
Scientists from the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia will present one of the day’s featured shows, “Chemistry,” that demonstrates everything from substances that explode (safely) to chemical “detective work” performed by laboratory scientists. The half-hour show begins at 9:30 a.m. and is presented by former Ridgewood High School graduate Sarah Rowley.
The event also has interactive exhibits from dozens of professional and amateur scientists, including 3D printers, solar telescopes, drones, robotics, the environment, health and medicine, physics and the technology used by Ridgewood’s police, fire and EMT professionals.
