RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Local artist and educator Eric Santoli is turning to the community for support as he launches his new project, Eric En Plein Air, an instructional painting and travel series designed for public television. Santoli has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary funds to bring this vision to life.

About the Series: Painting Outdoors, Preserving Nature

Eric En Plein Air will showcase the art of painting outdoors while highlighting natural landscapes and lesser-known environments. Each episode will focus not only on artistic techniques, materials, and principles, but also on appreciating, supporting, and preserving nature and wildlife.

“Painting outdoors is a very therapeutic way to engage with nature,” Santoli shared. “Anyone can do it with a little encouragement and guidance.”

A Passion for Teaching and Inspiring Others

Santoli, who has spent nearly a decade teaching hundreds of students, is no stranger to sharing his love of painting. His previous appearance on the public television show J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom helped forge a connection with American Public Television and inspired the development of his own program.

With a letter of support from KQED, Santoli is preparing to film the first six episodes of Eric En Plein Air. Donations from the GoFundMe will directly support production costs, allowing the series to reach public television audiences nationwide.

“Your donation will help to bring this series to public television. Thank you so much for your consideration and time,” Santoli said.
