The troopers along with local volunteers helped guide the children on surfboards into the water, where they would have the opportunity to experience riding a wave back to the shore.
A Walk on Water (AWOW) is a non-profit organization that has helped thousands of children with unique needs to surf across the country. The organization was founded in 2012 with the goal of providing a form of therapy for children and their families.
All the equipment was generously donated and the event was offered at no cost to the children and their families. For more information on AWOW, please visit their website at https://awalkonwater.org/
