Ho-Ho-Kus Nj, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Sycamore Community Church, formerly known as the Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus, hosted a ribbon cutting, tree planting, and sign unveiling ceremony to celebrate its official opening.
The event was attended by Ho-Ho-Kus Mayor Tom Randall and Council Members Steve Shell, Kathleen Moran, and Dane Policastro; Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos, Deputy Mayor Pamela R. Perron, and Council Member Evan Weitz. Members from the U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer’s NJ District #5 staff were also present, along with representatives of the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department, Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department, and Boy Scouts Troop 54. Church leadership, and many community members joined Pastor Richard Bierwas in the celebration.
Sycamore Community Church was formed by the merger of Upper Ridgewood Community Church and the Ho-Ho-Kus Community Church. It is part of the Presbyterian/Reformed family of churches and is rooted in a welcoming, community-focused spirit.
