The emergency operation highlights the seamless cooperation between local and state agencies when a vulnerable resident is at risk.

The Search Zone: Lincoln Avenue and Isabella Place

The search focused on the area surrounding Isabella Place and Lincoln Avenue in Glen Rock. Uniformed and plainclothes officers scoured a zone approximately 400 meters in diameter, racing against time to find the individual before they could cause harm to themselves or others.

The stakes were high, necessitating a massive coordinated effort that mobilized personnel and resources from six different police departments:

  • Glen Rock Police Department (GRPD)
  • Hawthorne Police Department
  • Midland Park Police Department
  • NJ State Police
  • NJ Transit Police
  • Ridgewood Police Department
  • Wyckoff Police Department

Technology Triumphs: Drones and K9 Unit Deployed

In a testament to modern policing, the search incorporated cutting-edge technology and specialized units. At least two police drones were deployed, providing critical aerial surveillance of the dense residential and wooded areas. A dedicated police tracking dog (K9 unit) was also on the ground, utilizing its specialized senses to follow the individual’s trail.

The exhaustive, multi-hour search finally concluded shortly after 6:00 PM. The individual was located, safely taken into custody, and immediately transported to New Bridge Medical Center for crucial evaluation, observation, and necessary treatment.

The quick and cooperative response by the combined agencies ensured a positive resolution to what was a serious and escalating situation for the Glen Rock community.
