While we have our differences ,one being that the Ridgewood blog strongly favors a county police and sheriffs department merger which Maura DeNicola opposes  and secondly we are against any public financing for the Jim Mac Greevey’s Xanadu project until the perpetrators ie all parties involved in this fiasco see jail time  .

We do commend  John Mitchell and Maura DeNicola for standing up against “Common Core”, and we like that John Michell has taken a keen interest in historic preservation in Bergen County . We commend Maura DeNicola for her tough stance on “pay to play” and we like that John Felice continues to ask tough questions like “where is the money going to come from” over and over.

The Ridgewood blog is well aware that doing the right thing with all the special interest financing in government is not always the most popular or the easiest .

Finally the Ridgewood blog feels strongly that these four candidates can work well with Governor Christie and help insure that the incremental reforms put in place will continue .

We also commend the Freeholders for independent thinking . which sometimes runs them afoul of County Executive Kathy Donovan wishes but most of all we support the County Republicans because we dont want to see a return to Big Daddy County Democratic Chairman Joseph Ferriero “Tammany Hall ” style ,turning Bergen County into a corrupt and dysfunctional mess.

The reality is the County Government is a huge burden to taxpayers and it must be shrunk significantly in order to make Bergen County a place where people would want to come and live or start a business .
