why is this done now. this should be done on a saturday and in the summer time, so more can enjoy this. come on do some thinking of a planing.

It is done on a weekday to facilitate participation by school groups.
If it was done on the weekend, the workers would have to be paid in line with their contract for weekend work. I used to come home from work early to take my kids; they really, really enjoyed it.
o come on. this is a saturday thing in the park. the police and fire are on the clock on week ends.
