Elmwood Park NJ, early Tuesday morning, August 13, traffic on Broadway/Route 4 eastbound in Elmwood Park came to a crawl after a 4-door sedan crashed head-on into a traffic light at Iozia Terrace, completely knocking it out. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the accident.
Elmwood Park Police Department and Fire Department quickly responded to the scene to manage the situation. A flatbed tow truck was on standby to remove the wrecked vehicle once the electric power to the downed light was safely isolated.
The incident caused significant delays for commuters, as the disabled traffic light and emergency response vehicles contributed to the slowdown. Authorities worked swiftly to restore normal traffic flow in the area.
