
Hudson County Authorities Investigate Fatal Collision Near Bergenline Avenue and JFK Boulevard East

NORTH BERGEN, NJ – A tragic pedestrian accident involving a New Jersey Transit bus in North Bergen has resulted in the death of a Hackensack man.
The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9th, near the intersection of Bergenline Avenue and JFK Boulevard East, a busy commuter corridor.
The victim, identified as Alan Harris, 66, of Hackensack, was struck by the NJ Transit bus, according to a release issued by acting Prosecutor Wayne Mello of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office on December 12th.
Details of the Fatal Incident
Mr. Harris was rushed immediately to Palisades Medical Center following the collision. Tragically, he later succumbed to his injuries the following day. The NJ Transit bus involved in the incident remained at the scene as part of the initial investigation.
Investigation Underway
The circumstances leading up to the fatal collision are currently under thorough review. The investigation is being led by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with crucial assistance from the North Bergen Police Department.
