Ridgewood NJ, for many 9/11 is a day they will always remember with a sadness but for some it was a day of celebrations . The buildings had not yet fallen , the NY Water Way Ferries will still evacuating people , crowds were gathering along the Hudson and yes some were dancing in the street waving Palestinian flags and celebrating . It happen in Jersey City and in Patterson ,in fact the police kept angry mobs from attacking them . It was witnessed by thousand of people in Hoboken and Jersey City .
The recent attempt to deny Donald Trumps comments is more COWARD historical revisionism . Many of my friends who were still alive saw it with our own eyes. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop should learn to shut his mouth and not speak about things he is clueless . Over 200 people that I knew died on that day and as they say it is what it is and they did what they did and no amount of lying will change that period. It is vile and unconscionable to lie about the events on 9/11 and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop owes an apology to all 9/11 victims and should resign immediately! History will not be rewritten for your convenience.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop accused Donald Trump on Sunday of “shamefully politicizing” by repeatedly claiming that he saw “thousands” of people cheering on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River when the World Trade Center was destroyed by the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Liberal press keeps this stuff private. I do recall hearing about it in Paterson.

I remember pictures on the news showing women cheering. I thought the news caster said Paterson, it was on one of those specials on one of the main stations. Can’t stand Trump, but I think his memory is right on this one. Perhaps the stories were inaccurate when reported.
The footage shown on Fox News was of Palestinians celebrating in East Jerusalem . And it wasn’t thousands.

sorry saw it my self and it happened in three locations that i can confirm, intermittently on the water front on all over Jersey city , Paterson and downtown Brooklyn did not see any of it on TV , Police blocked access to Paterson , Hoboken and Jersey City cops blocked people from intervening in Jersey City , although one store owner was shut down for celebrating . If you were anywhere near the action that day you saw it ,if you didnt you were not there .
I doubt Trump’s limo was cruising Jersey City and Paterson that day

I have this vague recollection of news stories about men of Arabic descent watching and celebrating from beach chairs on top of buildings in Jersey City. I suspect that many of us have that same recollection, but now that it’s the subject of a Trump statement, people are conveniently amending their recollections based upon whether they like Trump.
It would be nice to have some proof instead of someones word for it . If there is film why not have it shown. As for Trump i do not think he would know the truth if it bit him in the ass ,the man is nothing more than a fear monger.

I was working the day it happened , I called my friend who is a cop in Paterson, the section of Paterson that was reported to be cheering by Howard stern, was the crooks ave section near railroad ave and the markets, according to my friend who’s a veteran cop in that section he said it was pure bullshit, the Arabs were scared to death and mostly stayed in their houses
is that why the state police blocked off the area???
Doesn’t matter if it was 10s, 100s or 1000s. The point is they’re here, they hate the USA and should be handled accordingly. Enough of the PC rhetoric. Keeping the country safe is the first priority, then deal with the social and economic issues that make the headlines during elections.

I heard lots of rumors – remember the one about Muslim people staying home from work at the WTC on 9/11? Or the one about Muslim families from NJ that disappeared from NJ that night?
Rumors and gossip. Coming from a frightened populace. I saw the people in Jerusalem cheering. I remember that. I was glued to the TV for days.

People had cameras in 2001. The best and saddest documentary that I saw about 9/11 was done with video from people in NYC. It was 9/11 in realtime. You could feel the horror and disbelief of the people in NYC and some on the NJ waterfront. They may not have been cellphone cameras but it was great footage.The History Channel

I was working on 9/11 and was in Paterson’s Arab area in the subsequent days. I saw no celebration nor do I recall seeing any state police deployed in the crooks ave area, There were some transit cops near the railway tracks possibly because there is a fuel co near there. Jame’s how could you be in jersey city and Paterson at the same time?

Come on folks, put your political blinders aside for a moment. I’m sure that you had this belief of seeing a story or two of celebrations during 9/11 on the news. I have been asking a lot of friends and we all have that same recollection. In our minds is was a point of fact until this whole Trump thing blew up a couple of days ago and it is being decided upon by whether or not video can be found. I also recall seeing a lot of live news coverage of some really horrific scenes from the WTC, much of which can no longer be found.
I was in Jersey City that day. Thousands? Might be a stretch. Hundreds for sure.
