Kinnelon NJ, two ice fishermen are believed to have drowned at Split Rock Reservoir in Kinnelon, according to authorities .Family members called 911 on Dec. 31 at 2 p.m., reporting the two were missing .

The two men, one a 76-year-old from Passaic and the other a 64-year-old from Clifton traveled to Kinnelon Friday to go ice fishing at Split Rock Reservoir .
Kinnelon police responded Saturday and met family members at the reservoir where the two men were believed to have last been seen. Their personal belongings on the shoreline and two holes in the ice approximately 100 yards from shore were spotted.
One man’s body was recovered deceased by ice rescue teams on Saturday, but the second man has not been recovered as the search was discontinued due to weather and darkness. Dive teams resumed the search on New Year’s day for the second man .
UPDATE: Divers recovered the body of a 76-year-old Passaic man on Saturday, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. As the search continued at the 650-acre reservoir on Sunday, they found the body of his fishing companion, a 64-year-old Clifton man.
The names of the victims have not been released by authorities.
Kinnelon Borough Mayor Freda posted the following message on Facebook:
Oh my God where are they from anyone know.
Both bodies have been recovered. One man was from Passaic and the other was from Clifton. Older gentlemen. So sad.
