        1. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative . Both numbers are grossly exaggerated. The most recent FBI figures available show that a combined 1,187,349 crimes against the person were committed in the US: 392,562 offenses classified as “violent crime” (murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) plus 794,787 classified as “other assaults.” According to the table, 37.4% of violent crimes were committed by Blacks or African Americans, against 58.7% committed by Whites. The percentages for “other assaults” are 32.0% and 64.4%, respectively.
