FORT LEE, NJ — Authorities confirmed over the weekend that the two individuals found dead in a Fort Lee home last week were siblings, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Fort Lee Police Department responded to a request for a wellness check just after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at a residence on 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two elderly individuals, both unresponsive, and they were later pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Deputy Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer, the deceased were an 86-year-old woman and her 84-year-old brother.
While names have not been released, officials emphasized that “the deaths do not appear to be suspicious in nature.”
