Ridgewood NJ, in the latest analysis from the International Energy Administration on CO2 emissions for 2020:

“The U.S. saw the largest drop in carbon emissions at 12%, followed by the European Union, at 11%.  India saw carbon emissions decline 9%, but China had a drop of just 1.7%. Over the last four years, the United States had the biggest decline in carbon emissions of any of the major signatories to the Paris Climate Accord.”

The U.S. also had the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019. In other words, the one country NOT in the Paris Climate Accord, had the biggest reduction in pollution.

Since  2000, U.S. emissions are now down about 20%, which according to the IEA was “the largest absolute decline by any country over that period.”

In a 2020 report the U.N. said America is already cutting so much carbon it doesn’t need the Paris Climate Accord. In its  Emissions Gap Report 2020 United Nations said the U.S. is making these improvements while it refuses to participate in the Paris Climate Accord. In 2017, the White House said, that if it remained a part of that agreement, “compliance with the terms of the Paris Accord and the onerous energy restrictions it has placed on the United States could cost America as much as 2.7 million lost jobs by 2025 according to the National Economic Research Associates.” Instead, the U.S. continued decreasing its greenhouse gas emissions faster than any other major polluter, and it did so without the Paris agreement.

  1. Trump was right in that the Paris Climate Accord is a massive money grab where the US ends up disproportionately funding it, similar to the U.N. and Nato. But oh no, the libs have successfully got themselves indoctrinated into not seeing beyond the headline, thinking it’s all just about rainbows and butterflies.

  2. OK.

    Is anyone really surprised?

We’ve all been locked in our houses, not commuting to work.

Stores, restaurants and entertainment venues (clubs, movies, etc.) are closed.

Soccer moms aren’t driving their kids to school then driving to the beauty salon nor picking them up and driving them to practice.

Additionally all of those closed office buildings, restaurants and their support structure are not generating any (minimal) emissions.

So the takeaway is that for the Climate Zealots to get their way, we just have to lock everyone in their houses and shut down the economy…. Liberal Utopia

  3. Ground all the private jets…….otherwise keep flying the hypocrites around.
I hear they buy carbon offsets. ROFLMAO

  4. shutting down the keystone pipeline increases the carbon footprint as Warren Buffets trains transport the oil to market (which as I’m sure you noticed is up 50+cents at the pump in a month and its NOT due to an increase in demand) Factory Smokestacks billow coal smoke and harmful emssions in China making batteries for the Prius and Tesla.. I agree that this is where man does contribute to the carbon footprint.
