Upper Saddle River NJ, Fire Fighter Akira Yamaki and Fire Fighter Patrick Bertollo of the Upper Saddle River Fire Department were awarded the New Jersey Meritorious Service Medal by Ms. Esther Chucaralao, NJ Director of Military and Veterans Affairs, during the May Mayor and Council meeting to honor their military service. Fire Fighter Yamaki served in the US Coast Guard. Fire Fighter Bertollo served in the US Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

Hi, so proud of my son Akira David Yamaki age 44.
Heart sinking reality for me, his Mom, I was near death suffering several strokes, neurology illness, my rehab,hospital stays encumbered, I lost some memory, therefore, lost are recent family contacts, devastated to a point, were I’m not able to offer my congratulations to others, my son, deserving.
After several surgeries, I have scars that can prove the surgeries.
Please email only, My sons present physical living location. other vital documents were accidentally lost, discarded due to my illness..but some recovered
I tried remembering where he currently resides, I’m not successful.
Please do not contact him, or anyone, at his work or otherwise, Im very scared it may affect him negatively. I have items for him and his family.
