Upper Saddle River NJ, mark your calendars! On September 28, Upper Saddle River will celebrate its 130th anniversary by reviving its beloved tradition of USR Day. The event, organized by the nonprofit USR Cares, promises a day filled with family fun, community spirit, and a celebration of the borough’s rich local history. Proceeds from the event will support the Upper Saddle River Volunteer Ambulance Corps in purchasing a much-needed new ambulance.

A Return to Tradition Years ago, USR Day was a popular local celebration, and now it’s making a comeback thanks to the efforts of USR Cares. Louisa Quarto, president of USR Cares, shared the inspiration behind the revival, noting, “There was a USR Day years ago, and USR Cares started an Oktoberfest in 2017. This year, the mayor asked that we host a USR Day instead.”

Supporting a Good Cause This year’s USR Day is not just about fun—it’s also about giving back. The event will feature various fundraising efforts, with proceeds going directly to the Upper Saddle River Volunteer Ambulance Corps, ensuring they have the resources to continue serving the community effectively.

Mayor’s Vision Mayor Arman Fardanesh is enthusiastic about the return of USR Day, viewing it as a way to highlight the town’s history while fostering a sense of unity among residents. “This will showcase our community organizations, offer fundraising for a meaningful cause, and give back to those who contribute so much to our residents,” he said.

The event will be a perfect opportunity for residents to come together, celebrate their town’s past, and look forward to the future while supporting an important local cause.
