Glen Rock NJ,  a utility pole along Route 208 southbound, between Lincoln Avenue and Boulevard, was struck twice on Thursday, May 22nd — once in the early morning hours and again later in the evening, according to Glen Rock Police and Nixle alerts.

Morning Crash: Vehicle Rolls Over, Pole Severely Damaged

The first incident occurred during the early morning hours and involved a vehicle that rolled over and struck the utility pole, causing severe damage. At the time of reporting, Glen Rock Police did not release information regarding potential injuries. Both Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department (GRFD) responded to the scene.

Evening Crash: Second Impact, Same Pole

Later in the day, the newly installed replacement pole was struck again — this time by a vehicle that remained upright. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the evening crash, but further damage to the pole necessitated yet another replacement. The Glen Rock Police Department responded to this second incident without assistance from the fire department.

Additional Observations

Visible damage to a guard rail was observed in the area, though it’s unclear whether this was a result of the morning crash, the evening crash, or both.

Ongoing Concerns

The repeated collisions raise questions about the safety and visibility conditions along this stretch of Route 208. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when driving in the area, especially during early morning or evening hours.
