My money is on this being an insurance scam.
Why would you even bring that much jewelry to the hospital unless it was an accident emergency because I’ve been a patient there many many times and I’ve only wore a necklace and my wedding band and it’s never been taken and it’s been left in the drawer Including my pocketbook when I went in and it’s an emergency patient I kind of feel like this is a scam and this woman is trying to get insurance money or something I don’t know it’s questionable to me
I wouldn’t even wear an old watch to the hospital (or the “Y”), much less a diamond necklace or whatever (assuming I had one). Insurance companies have heard this one before.
It doesn’t pass the smell test.. See if the stuff has been sold to get melted down. Or better yet, I’d bet it got recently appraised (always a high bs value) coincidently prior to a planned visit to the hospital
What ever .
Q: “Why would you even bring that much jewelry to the hospital?”

A: (wait for it…)
Because we are RICH and STUPID.
