Valley Supporter says You chose your home location poorly and now your crying
You anti Valley meatheads just don’t get it. No one else cares what you want. You try and try to make this a town wide issue but all your doing is making yourself look stupid. No one cares that you are going to be inconvenienced by the construction.
You chose your home location poorly and now your crying, well there is a name for that, they call stupid tax and your going to pay it.

People like the poster above are the ones who are truly stupid. It is a town-wide issue if you want to keep this a nice place to live. If you want a city of high rise buildings with worse traffic and congestion, then I guess all of this kind of development in a residential neighborhood is ok. I would suggest the poster should have moved to Hackensack since that seems to be the type of environment they would prefer.
Yes, this very much reflects the elitism of the Valley people. And they are the ones who will cry the loudest when Village is in tatters. Its really an offensive argument to make and one that suggests any sort of out of code should be accepted, despite what neighbors think.
When are the Village council and Planning Board going to step up to the plate and realize their charge is to preserve Ridgewood’s quality of life, not destroy it?
Poster: What don’t YOU get ? It IS a town wide issue ! The construction is only part of the problem, just wait until it is done !!! Wait until you see who’s driving through ALL the neighborhoods both during AND after it’s completed, if it gets that far.
In case you have not figured it out, which seems pretty apparent, the more single beds (and toilets) the more employees…and not doctors and nurses. And that’s only a very small part of the issue.
Sounds to me like you don’t really care about the town’s reputation. Based on what I’ve heard from others who live OUTSIDE of Ridgewood, including some who once lived here, it really is becoming a smaller version of Hackensack.
The towns so called reputation is vastly overrated. I make this statement because i have lived here for many years,i even remember when the school system was highly regarded.
The poster’s aasumption is that unless you live near Valley you have no reason to care what Valley does. I don’t live near Valley, but I don’t want BF under a decade long seige of construction and I don’t want Linwood to become a major transportation corridor. I am also dismayed by the various disturbing precedents VH is threatening to set with regard to master planning, decision-making on zoning, etc.
Linwood, because of Valley, access to 17, and the school at certain hours, already is a “major transportation corridor.” They will just move over to Glen and East Ridgewood( or not even bother if they don’t have a need to)….Good luck CBD.
In this day and age, bad press travels a lot faster than good press. This town will be spending a ton on damage control.
This original post misses a big point. People purchased next to a nonconforming business in an R1 zone. The hospital should have realized that when they bought.
#8 I agree with your post.
You are going to compare those projects to Valley ? Tell me, did any of them take 6 years plus ?
Valley supporters posting in this thread have set their cause back years and continue to prove the point of those that oppose them. Unfortunately for you, even a hospital that doubles in size has no cure for the deadly combination of ignorance and arrogance.
#8 — all of the former projects you mention are not generally surrounded by houses in a tight residential neighborhood. 1200 East Ridgewood is a prime example. *If* you were going to build something like those projects in Ridgewood, it, and Goffle Road, are probably the best places to do it.
secondly, you assume the people here were around 25+ years ago when these projects were built.
there are many people in ridgewood against both an oversized expansion of the hospital AND the opportunistic construction of oversized rental properties or condos in downtown ridgewood. while they are not exactly the same in scale or purpose, people have valid concerns and should not just get steamrolled because somebody with deep pockets says they want/need to do the project.
