GLEN ROCK, NJ — A wild scene unfolded Tuesday afternoon, July 1st, as Glen Rock Police Department patrol officers, with the assistance of Hawthorne PD and the Ridgewood Police Department, apprehended a suspect following a motor vehicle and foot pursuit involving a Vespa motor scooter.
đźš“ High-Speed Vespa Pursuit in Glen Rock
The pursuit began on Rock Road in Glen Rock when officers attempted to stop the operator of a Vespa. The suspect refused to comply and led officers on a brief but tense chase through local streets.
The chase came to an abrupt end on Holt Avenue, where the individual abandoned the scooter, leaving behind a pair of sandals, a set of keys, and two cell phones, before fleeing on foot.
👮‍♂️ Multi-Agency Response Leads to Arrest
Thanks to rapid coordination and backup from Hawthorne and Ridgewood police, the suspect was captured on the property of a nearby elementary school. He was immediately taken into custody and transported to Glen Rock Police Headquarters for processing.
At this time, no official charges have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
