Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood Visioning survey will end on May 5th, 2019. The survey will provide the foundation for our new Master Plan and it is incredibly important for Village residents to add their voice and vision by taking just ten minutes to complete the survey. The Master Plan is a guidance document that sets goals, policies, and priorities for investing in the physical, economic, environmental, and social future of a community. A master plan can provide direction in terms of investing in transportation improvements and public facilities, changing zoning regulations, protecting ecologically-sensitive areas, or becoming more environmentally sustainable. Concept plans and other visuals within a master plan can demonstrate ideas and hoped-for outcomes. Importantly, the master plan is the basis for a municipality’s zoning regulations.
THE FUTURE OF RIDGEWOOD NEEDS YOUR VISION AND YOUR VOICE! Visit before May 5 and please share this important information with fellow residents.

Here are the Results of the Visioning Questionnaire

More than 2,000 people completed the Visioning Questionnairewhich was launched in October 2018 and closed in May 2019. We spent the summer analyzing the data, which includes reading through the thousands of responses to the short answer questions. We summarized the key findings into a presentation that can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. We also compiled and analyzed the information from the Map Your Vision Tool and prepared a similar presentation that summarizes its results.

The Visioning Questionnaire Summary of Results presentation highlights the outcomes of each question. It also provides commentary about the results that includes excerpts from people’s responses to the short answer questions. The commentary ends with a series of critical Key Questions to Consider that will be discussed in detail at next month’s Visioning Workshops, which are currently scheduled for Saturday, September 21 and Saturday, September 28 at Village Hall. More details on the workshops to come shortly after you return from the Labor Day Holiday!

If you have any comments, questions, and/or reactions about either of these presentations, please send them through the Contact page.

  1. James, who are the members of the Master Plan Subcommittee? What are their personal “pet” projects and agendas? Thanks!

  2. Open the link…. clearly there is a screening process to winnow out applicants so that only like-minded individuals who support Knudsen’s ongoing pillaging of Village taxpayers can participate! The scam goes on.

  3. 2000 people is roughly 6_8%, we shouldn’t think it Das successful. The survey is nothing more than a priority list at the 20,000 foot level. The workshops did not have any complex dialogue and so few people attended. What s waste, six years since DMK had been in office and we are still waiting.

  4. Looks like the library has a fair bit of support. Also seems like parking is a big issue to people. #FakeNews or do the readers here really live in an echo-chamber of the small minority?

  5. How much did we pay consultants to produce the survey? A significant % of village residents have expertise in budgeting/forecasting. Many doing such work full time for Fortune 500 companies. Why can’t we tap these professionals to contribute some of their time to execute such survey with no cost? The data visualisation tools these days are powerful and free (just download Power Bi). Plus local dads know the village better and can tap local networks to generate better responses.
