MIDLAND PARK, NJ – An unusual accident late Thursday morning, October 2nd, required a quick response from emergency services after a car slammed into a retaining wall in front of a local business.

The Midland Park Police Department, Midland Park Fire Department, and Midland Park EMS all rushed to the scene at 245 Godwin Avenue after a four-door Lexus sedan crashed into the wall. The impact was significant, leaving the retaining wall—made of cinderblocks—partially destroyed and scattering debris across the area.

Driver Refuses Medical Aid

Despite the severity of the crash, which left shards of the vehicle and cinderblocks scattered on the ground, the driver of the Lexus was evaluated on-scene by EMTs and refused additional medical aid. This is a testament to the safety features of modern vehicles.

The building located behind the retaining wall, which houses Nature’s Detox, a whole foods and juice bar, was inspected and reported to have no structural damage.

Midland Park DPW workers were quickly brought in to manage the debris and clean up the area. A flatbed tow truck was required to remove the heavily damaged Lexus from the scene.

The Midland Park Police Department has not yet released additional details about the cause of the crash, but they continue to investigate the incident.
