Westwood’s 20th residential tree was planted this May 3rd: The first Dogwood tree in the Borough Easement on Dogwood Court.
WOW, the DPW planted TWENTY trees in front of residents’ houses in TWO days!! Thank you to all who submitted a tree request. And much thanks to the DPW Tree crew Ryan, Anzel, and Michael for your hard work and DPW Superintendent for coordinating the logistics.
Our plan is to order more trees to get in the ground before the end of Spring (high temperatures are not favorable for new plantings). Please get on our list via our online form: https://www.westwoodnj.gov/357/Request-a-Shade-Tree or email us shadetree@westwoodnj.gov
You can specify in your email if you’d like more than one tree in the Borough Easement!
Please note, each request requires a site inspection by our DPW Superintendent to verify a new tree will survive in the Right of Way / Borough Easement. If there is enough space to plant a tree, Utility Mark-outs are called and must be present before digging. Unfortunately, not every request can be fulfilled.

Is the village going to spend any money on new trees, or is there a freeze on planting to no mullah?

I inquired about it 2 years ago and the guy I spoke to said I could get immediately for $400.
