Wyckoff NJ, Wyckoff Committeeman Scott Fisher resigned from his position on Saturday after serving a year on the township’s governing body.
Administrator Matthew Cavallo announced the resignation of the former public works manager from the Township Committee.
On Tuesday, Fisher explained that, due to recent family matters, he and his wife had decided to sell their home in Wyckoff.
Fisher was appointed in January to complete the remaining year of the second term of Committeewoman Melissa Rubenstein. In November, he ran unopposed with fellow Committeeman Peter Melchionne for a new three-year term.
The head of the township’s Republican Committee, Drita McNamara, could not be reached for comment. However, Cavallo stated that the township has 15 days to present three candidates to the Township Committee. The committee, in turn, has 30 days to select a new member, who will serve until the next election. Interested candidates can then run for the remainder of the three-year term.
Fisher, the facilities director for the Wyckoff YMCA, retired from the township in June 2022 after 34 years of service. He has been a member of the Fire Department since 2002 and also contributed over a decade of service on the township’s Planning Board and Shade Tree Commission.
