Ridgewood NJ, sources tell us the Ridgewood Moms and Dads Facebook group continues to debate what kind of “filter”censorship is necessary .
According to the ACLU : Censorship, the suppression of words, images, or ideas that are “offensive,” happens whenever some people succeed in imposing their personal political or moral values on others. Censorship can be carried out by the government as well as private pressure groups. Censorship by the government is unconstitutional.
Ridgewood Councilmen Jeff Voigt even jumped into the fray seemly endorsing the idea of silencing critics , and filtering speech ?
The first amendment to the Constitution says: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Apparently the United States Constitution is not taught in Ridgewood .
Isn’t it somewhat ironic that Ms. Winograd runs around the Village complaining about the treatment her husband is subjected to because he’s Jewish, but yet in her role as a Facebook page administrator, she’s deploying censorship techniques developed and heavily used by the Nazi party?
I joined another group on Facebook called Ridgewood Mom’s and Dad’s With Free Speech. I feel like the people running Ridgewood Mom’s and Dad’s have become egomaniacal lunatics.

I few years ago, the political Left took on a new approach to societal issues. Basically, their package of issues became right. There’s no point in any further debate. It’s right. It’s settled science. To disagree with any of it was proof enough that you were stupid, racist, in denial, evil, misogynistic, mean, uncaring, etc., etc. This approach is actually very effective, as it has a tendency to garner additional support from people who are deathly afraid of being ostracized by friends, colleagues and neighbors.
This is exactly what’s going on with this local FB site.
