The play? The hilariously titled “Emily Brontë, Teenage Necromancer.”

Written by acclaimed playwright Don Zolidis, the production reimagines the author of Wuthering Heights as a young woman who accidentally discovers she possesses the dark gift of necromancy—the ability to communicate with and raise the dead!

A Perfect Blend of Thrills and Undead Comedy

Running for four nights, the show promises to deliver “Gothic thrills, undead comedy, and the perfect dose of Halloween spirit.”

In this smart satire, as the young Emily Brontë’s powers intensify, the absurdity escalates, blending the melodrama of the Brontë sisters with zombie mayhem and classic coming-of-age comedy.

  • Director Stephanie Stearns Dulli called the play a “perfect blend of literary mischief, Halloween fun, and theatrical creativity.” A devoted Halloween enthusiast, Dulli noted that the show is an ideal match for Ridgewood’s legendary autumn celebrations, saying, “There’s no better way to celebrate the season than with a play that brings the whole community together.”
  • Artistic Director Kelly Van Zile praised playwright Zolidis’s work, stating, “Don is brilliant at crafting stories that are both hilarious and accessible for young performers.”
