Ridgewood NJ , The Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration Committee announces its 2019 celebration theme as “ALL-AMERICAN SUMMER.” The 2019 theme aims to celebrate all things summer in America – backyard barbeques, baseball games, outdoor concerts, camping, fairs, cross country road trips, or driving to the Jersey shore – we all have a favorite! This will be the Committee’s 109th annual celebration which includes a ceremonial flag raising, parade, and evening entertainment followed by the best fireworks in Bergen County- on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
Each year, the Committee chooses a theme that salutes a certain aspect of American history or culture. The theme also serves as the basis for the highly-anticipated float competition held among the town’s elementary schools during the parade.
“Every summer I look forward to watching the fireworks at Vet’s field with Committee Secretary Leigh Gilsenan. We have watched them together almost every year since our days at Somerville Elementary School! It’s a great tradition, and we are so proud to help ensure it continues here in Ridgewood.” said Tara Masterson, President of the Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration.
The Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration is organized by the Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration, Inc., an all-volunteer, non-profit community group. All aspects of the day, including parade, fireworks, bands, evening performers, insurance, and police and fire personnel are funded by voluntary contributions from businesses and individuals. The Committee continues to require the generous donations from the community and urges everyone to help keep the tradition alive by making a contribution at www.ridgewoodjuly4th.com.
The Ridgewood tradition began in 1910 when the local papers, the civic section of the Woman’s Club and the Ridgewood Fire Department joined forces to create a “safe and sane” holiday with an emphasis on Patriotism.
Visit www.ridgewoodjuly4th.com for more information and Support the Tradition by participating in the parade, being a financial supporter, or volunteering.
I cant wait for the summer , nothing beats a home town 4th of july
Enjoy it now because Valley Hospital is not going to keep on getting the big donations to Village of Ridgewood anymore. We all know why.
The “4 of July committee” is independent of the Village and each year they need to raise ALl of the money to pay for the parade and the fireworks. Now is the time for all of the residents in the Village to contribute to the best thing Ridgewood has to offer and make sure this tradition continues .
Yeah Mr. Real Estate, But I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and did not get a tax refund this year. My income is fixed to the tune of what the average retired senior has in income. When and if the dems get in and can reverse Trump’s punishing tax “reforms'” THEN and only THEN can I even afford a ticket to the fireworks.
