Hasbrouck Heights NJ, according to Hasbrouck Heights Police a woman had to be extricated from her car and taken to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash that snarled traffic on Route 17 North for about an hour Monday. The chain-reaction crash was set off when a Belleville motorist driving a Ford F-550 rear-ended a Toyota Prius, driven by the woman, that was stopped in traffic. The woman was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.The crash occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on Route 17 just before Franklin Avenue, police said. The road was reopened approximately an hour after the crash.
A traffic summons was issued to the Ford driver, and three of the involved vehicles were towed away from the scene.
