Ridgewood NJ, after major news organizations distorted former President Donald Trump’s comments about a “bloodbath” for the auto industry, a majority of voters now agree with Trump that the news media are “the enemy of the people.”
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 60% of Likely U.S. Voters agree that the media are “truly the enemy of the people,” as Trump said in 2019, including 30% who Strongly Agree. Thirty-six percent (36%) disagree, including 21% who Strongly Disagree. Last May, 59% agreed the media are “the enemy of the people.” (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Well, it’s relatively simple, although you wouldn’t expect a child of three or four, or an inveterate adult narcissist to understand. What we’re talking about is externalization or a lack of an internal locus of control.
If 60% of the voting population withdrew their participation with the media (because why wouldn’t they do that if they truly believed the media was the enemy) the problem would vanish overnight. Viewership, engagement, revenue — all in the crapper. The enemy would starve on the vine. Do you think that will happen? And if it doesn’t, why? Who is to blame? Not “the media.”
