In addition to what the other folks are saying about the Elk’s, street conditions, garage etc. don’t underestimate the wireless towers. Wireless towers while improving wireless phone service come with a lot of bad side effects. The radiation (especially for those living close to it) is very dangerous for young children. In addition after installing a tower chances are the providers will add more on top of just repeaters. They can add microwave equipment which is a killer. I know many people are complaining about their wireless coverage at home but the benefit is much less than the damage. Not to mention these towers are an eyesore and tend to affect real estate. When I was looking to buy in NJ one the good reasons to buy in Ridgewood was the lack of wireless towers and high voltage lines.
This VC is obviously blind to this becuase the residents have expressed a need for quality of service. Many don’t even think when they ask for something. Anyone knows where the tower/s will be installed?
I’m baaaaack. Can’t resist. When Jane Reilly was Mayor same issue. Everyone complained about cell tower planning to be built by B. F. So it wasn’t built. Grass roots campaign won; and I was part of it baaack then.
Well, DUH!! Did people get the message and NOT graduate to more Cell and Smart phones. Did they start a campaign to talk about the risks of these devices. NO, as soon as the Smart phone came to market all the sheep followed and bought like crazy, like free gold, and now they complain. You can’t have your cake ( or poison in this case) and eat it (survive) too. You bought it ; now eat it, accept it. You own it. Idiots.
Let’s put a cell tower on top of the Ginormous Garage.
Or maybe put one on top of the low income housing so those folks can sue the village and get enough money to move out of low income housing…
win-win
Forget the towers, that ship has left the barn.
There’s no excuse however for the condition of our roads…
Basically we are killing ourselves in quest of the wrong things. Cellphones should be made illegal. Right there we would save endless piles of rejected electronic detritus and a lot of electricity.
While I’m all for watching a good left-wing nut job self-implosion, let’s not just make stuff up.

tldr?; “Radiofrequency emissions from antennas used for cellular and PCS [personal communications service] transmissions result in exposure levels on the ground that are typically thousands of times below safety limits. These safety limits were adopted by the FCC based on the recommendations of expert organizations and endorsed by agencies of the Federal Government responsible for health and safety. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that such towers could constitute a potential health hazard to nearby residents or students.”
My friend, 4:56 p.m. The way I read the cancer.org etc. link is that the answer is not definitive. It seems likely that cell towers do not cause cancer. But more study needs to be done.
Human flesh and blood is very delicate. I wouldn’t mess with Texas. I remember fondly in 1970 when partially hydrogenated fats came out and I wouldn’t touch them, preferring what was natural for my body…. butter. Better with butter and also eschewing many “modern” chemicals that came out and now are shown to be hazardous. I was called a “nut-job” and worse for refusing HRT 25 years ago when it the “right” thing to do. Don’t mess with our God given precious fragile human bodies, especially especially where our children are concerned.
Hey, I’m for the birds. I listen to birds with my ears. Never an electronic device.
how does this site attract so many conspiracy-theory anti-capitalist tin-foil-hat luddites? how do they afford to live in ridgewood? family money?
