Judge: N.J. may have violated rule-making process for ID changes
New Jersey residents contemplating travel plans still lack clarity on what credentials will be needed to board airplanes in the future.
The state Motor Vehicle Commission wanted to roll out implementation Monday of the federal Real ID program for driver’s licenses — known as TRU-ID here — but the plans have been blocked by a Mercer County Superior Court judge, who ruled that questions remain about whether the state properly followed its own rule-making process.
