Ridgewood NJ, the Firework show ended early due to a malfunction that caused shells to explode on the ground in the launch area. No injuries were reported .
The unplanned detonation did not happen near the crowd. Ridgewood firefighters were in position when the misfire occurred and quickly responded to and extinguished fire.
This is why safety areas are established and emergency plans in place. There have been accidents before and Ridgewood public safety personnel have been there to keep residents safe.
Hired a cheaper company this year?
What a waste of my time and money. not for nothing But no one should be on the field, it’s just common sense. Not too smart. Why would the village put them selves in for a major lawsuit. Thank God no one got hurt. They are very lucky.
Very lucky indeed, I was there.
It DID happen near the crowd… I was no more than 50 yards away when the explosion went off and the concussion was intense. The fireman were NOT in position and it took a good 5-8 min b4 a truck finally came down Linwood to extinguish the fire on the south side of the bridge. And then a few more min because instead of running the line around the bridge someone thought it would be a great idea to attack the fire FROM the bridge. RFD – saved another basement.
Oh stop Boyd, a little boom boom never bothered anyone…
We live near Valley Hospital and our whole house shook. Many states and cities have moved to light shows due to fire and environmental concerns. We bought tickets for older family members and kids and we stayed home with the dogs who are traumatized by the the loud booms. The last one felt like a bomb had gone off.
I love the monday morning quarterback with all the fire fighting knowledge. There’s always one.
People sit to close , its not safe. Big changes coming.
Anonymous you do know that Steve Kim and Boyd Loving are two different people?
Does anyone know who is responsible if any one gets hurt from fire works. The town or the company.
I live near Valley and BF and my whole house shook. My first reaction was GODDAMN the town, they don’t give a fuck about my house can be damaged and if it were damaged they would say it is the house’s fault.
Look town council you did enough damage with taking down precious old trees at Schedler and tearing down green islands and making ugly concrete like shopping mall at train station. Let’s stop it with the fireworks. OK . stupid assholes ; I wonder if the foundation of my old house was weakened. I have lived year more than 40 years and NEVER experienced that kind of shaking. God DAMN it. A light show could be beautiful. But no, the clowns at the council need noise. What jerks. Stupid jerks.
Ok there lets put the bottle down time to go walkies.
Huh.are you stoned!
lotta snowflakes around here considering its July…
