Ridgewood NJ, Two years Village employee Edgar Arevalo of Pompton Lakes was the victim of an indoor chlorine spill. Arevalo was working in September 2017 at Ridgewood Water when an employee from Farmingdale-based Miracle Chemical Co. arrived on village property to deliver chlorine. According to a lawsuit filed late last month, the chemical company employee failed to transfer the chlorine to the chemical storage tank properly, failing to secure the chemical transfer hose or using a defective hose.
The Miracle Chemical Co employee decided to try fixing the hose during the transfer and enlisted Arevalo’s help holding the hose without warning him about a potentially dangerous situation. According to the complaint, the hose came loose, and Arevalo “was sprayed and doused in hazardous chemicals, including bursts of chlorine that went on to his body and into his eyes,” , Arevalo was taken to The Valley Hospital. The suit also names the village of Ridgewood and Ridgewood Water.
Was OSHA ever informed.
What’s a “Law Suite?”
You know they mean .
My god. Does anyone proofread this stuff before it’s posted.
This smells like a frivolous lawsuit (correct spelling) on the backs of the taxpayers. We must file a counter suit!
